Why, in the vastly overpopulated blogosphere, should Intota have a blog? Why shouldn’t we? How can a population that feeds only on ideas and relatively low electrical energy be over-anythinged? Blogs can serve to connect the dots of ideas drifting on the surface of the internet, making some sense of the cloud by forging or showing connections – a few of the underlying sinews of human expertise.
Which is what this blog attempts to do to some small degree. And this is also what an expert network does – hence this blog on this site.
Intota categorizes and indexes some 45,000 subject areas. We interlink knowledgeable witnesses and consultants in unique and idea generating ways:
- Adhesives and Advanced Composites can link a submarine scholar and a medical device QA professional.
- Ceramics and Intellectual Property can link a construction expert and an integrated circuit inventor.
- Alternative energy can link a sewage maven and a superconductivity scientist.
The driving force to do this is that corporations and law firms need to connect many dots–dots that each has not encountered in this combination in the past, in order to meet current business or litigation needs or even to create a more meaningful future. No one firm can have all the knowledge they need under its roof (or roofs):
- Case review for pending lawsuits
- Quick idea generation/brainstorming
- Independent review of vendors and suppliers
- New product ideation
- Analysis of complex IP for infringement protection
- Manufacturing plant troubleshooting
Intota invests a great deal of time and energy, recruiting, reviewing, verifying, categorizing and linking people in order to present qualified individuals for all these applications as well as those uses which have yet to be thought of. All as a part of connecting dots.
